Does website accessibility affect rankings in Google?

While Google uses a lot of website accessibility features to understand a website (e.g. media alt tag), it is not something that is factored into the search algorithm. Bad accessibility can affect the user experience and indirectly hurt rankings but it is not a direct effect.

“It is not something we would use as a direct ranking factor when it comes to search.”
