The Challenge
As Alexandria restaurant Pike & Pint Grill has evolved in recent years, the previous website wasn’t meeting the restaurant’s overall needs or goals. The user experience wasn’t clear and communicating new information to patrons was difficult.
When it came to a redesigned and functional website, Pike & Pint needed the ability to easily update menu items, allow for online gift card sales, and to integrate new online reviews effortlessly.
Our Solution
Website Design
Overall, we gave the Pike & Pint website a new and refreshing look that plays well with their current branding but also allows users to easily find the information they desire. The food and drink menus are all linked in the navigation for easy access, as well as called out across the site. The home page highlights some menu favorites with strong visuals to draw visitors attention.
Menu Updates
By building a custom content system for menu items, we gave Pike & Pint staff the ability to easily update existing menu items, as well as add new ones. The menus are driven by categories which then feed into the correct sections and show on a consistent layout.
Gift Card Sales
In order to allow online gift card sales, we leveraged a new form and connected it to Stripe, an online transaction processor that collects credit card payment. Visitors are able to indicate the amount of the gift card, as well as where it should be sent and even include a personal message.
Online Reviews
Because Pike & Pint has many positive online reviews, the restaurant wanted to highlight those and keep them updated without having to manually change them. We achieved this through using software which connects to online platforms such as Google Reviews and Facebook to automatically search for and pull in new reviews that meet the rules we specify.
The Results
In Page Views
As a result of the improved user experience of the site, overall page views increased.
New Online Gift Card Orders
The added ability to order giftcards online has lead to increased sales.
In Bounce Rate
A better user journey and overall communication has lead users to stay on the site longer than they previously were.
