The Challenge
Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, located in Palo Alto, California, was looking to refresh their design, but also to really focus on cleaning up the user journey on the site. They wanted users to easily be able to access information, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when the majority of their interaction was taking place online. Their old site was difficult to navigate for users as there were too many pages and clutter. It also posed issues when it came to church administrators needing to make updates.
Our Solution
First, we implemented a fresh new design and a new logo. In addition to creating a more visually appealing site, our team created post types for events, leadership, sermons, news, groups and more. By doing so, we were able to streamline the management of the many moving parts of the church. Administrators can easily log in and make updates from the back end while being assured that they will display in an organized and appealing manner for visitors.
The Results
In Page Views
As a result of the improved user experience of the site, overall page views increased.
In New Users
First time users of the site increased 5%.
In Pages Per Session
Due to easier navigation and content organization, visitors viewed more pages during visits.
